Paris and Y10 Works Experience |

In October a group of Y11 pupils studying French and Art spent 5 days in Paris, taking in the famous sights like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, as well as art galleries like the Louvre and the Dali Espace.
We walked for miles, and eventually got the underground when feet ached too much, and enjoyed a real French meal in a different restaurant every night. Everyone agreed, it had been a fantastic trip, and a great opportunity to practise everyday French. Y10 Work Experience In December a small group of Y10 pupils doing German as an option spent a week in Emmelshausen near the river Rhine doing a week's work placement. The placements included a garage, a fitness centre, a hairdresser's and a primary school. As well as having to communicate and use the language learnt in class, pupils also got an insight into the world of work and the difference from English places of work. All the mentors were very helpful, and the pupils got a lot out of the placement. There was not a lot of spare time, but we did manage a trip to Trier to the Christmas Market on the weekend. The snow was a welcome sight, and was there all week. | Paris | | |  |  |
